Having a sauna room in your home can be a great benefit, particularly when you come home with tired, aching muscles and you just want to relax. The convenience sure beats going to a gym. But if you're considering making a purchase there're some things that you have to decide on before you will be ready to buy.

A standard kit contains a pile of material and instructions. You do all the work, including a few cutting. If you're not comfortable taking on this task then this might not be the way to go, either.
A modular sauna room kit has most of the pieces pre-assembled leaving only the large, bulky items for you to do. This generally includes panels, etc. They're quicker to complete and there is little margin for mistake as it's virtually put together when it comes.
there is the option of whether to go with an infrared or traditional sauna. More people are turning to infrared because of the heat source and the centralized effect it can have on you although the temperature that's put out is lower.
Traditional tends to heat the whole room regardless of how many people are using it and make a higher temperature. Some people will find these higher temps more harsh. For those an infrared sauna room may just be the way to go.
You need to determine how large of an unit you will require. If it's just you and a significant other then a 2 or 3 person unit will do. These are the standard sizes sold to most people. But if you plan on entertaining many in it then you may want to opt for larger. In fact, although you can purchase a 12 person sauna, you may find it better to employ to build yours if it must be rather large.
Something that most of the people never consider is the door. Solid doors retain more heat, but some may want a glass door to see out of and to permit more light inside. This may be a problem if you plan to use the unit in the nude. Of course, if you've an indoor sauna your personal nudity in your own home may not be a problem that it could be for an outdoor sauna with windows.
Be sure that your sauna room is made of good, quality substance. Cedar is by far the greatest to use, but is also the most expensive. If you consider the fact that it does not warp or rot, repels termites and retains heat well it may be an easy decision for you.
